“Invisible Ties”, is a response to brief 1 of the 2024 edition of the ISTDs annual competition, which explores the rich tradition of the Red String Destiny originating from Asian folklore. My aim was to bridge the original legend with contemporary interpretations. This publication delves into concepts such as fate, free will, and destiny. The publication carries forward a clean, breathable aesthetic that utilises white space.  The narratives of these bracelet exchanges have lent themselves to the expressive typeface used for the publications titles. These titles were made from real string, photographed and then digitally adapted to fit within the publication.
